This year’s Christmas card theme is cars. We stretched the definition to include golf carts. The cover of the image is the family getting ready to go out on a golf cart ride to admire the Christmas lights in the neighborhood in Florida.
The image below of Clay with the Telsa is the first one Tenna shot. He’s so busy with golf, school and his friends, it seems like he’s always on the go. He loves the Tesla because it’s sleek and fast, so it seemed like an appropriate combination. Tenna shot several different images with her camera on a tripod so she could combine them into one single image seamlessly.
Asher’s panel is with the Infinity. We’ve had the it over 14 years. We were going to trade it in when we got the Telsa and he was crushed. “This represents my whole childhood! I remember driving to the mailbox to pick up my favorite Lego. You drove me to camp and picked me up in it ever since I was four!” Now with a 16 year old driver it has a new life.
Mike loves his hummer. The day he found out they quite producing them he went into deep depression. Then Tenna went into deep depression because she knew he would now have that vehicle the rest of his life. But he loves it, and that’s what’s important.
The 1957 baby blue Bel Air is what inspired the storyline for this card. The moment Tenna saw it she knew this year’s card would be car-centric. The car previously belonged to friends of ours in Florida. Tenna’s grandfather drove the same car but in a 4 door version and it was the same beautiful shade of turquoise. When Mike told her it was for sale, and showed her a picture, it didn’t take long for her to say ‘yes please!’ Thank you to Amanda Abraham for pushing the shutter button.
Blue is our beloved Australian Shepard and she is a treasured member of the family. We normally try to give her a panel where she is in a starring role. In this image she’s getting ready to go for a golf cart ride with the boys. She loves going in the golf cart more than even the car, and she’s always happy with her two boys.
Every year there are images we love that just don’t make it into the card. Below are some of our favorites that didn’t make the cut this year.
